This was inspired by a song called "Big, black Cadillac" by John Entwistle. It's a great song with awesome drum and bass solos. And it has that John's black humour...
It took me some time to finish this and I got really bored in some parts, especially when there was a lot of detail.
It looks quite messy, because the colour scheme I used is hmm... poor. I mean it's too monochromatic. And I had to outline all the lines to clear them up, which was no good.
The car is out of proportions and too BIG, I know and the perspective is offffff!
Here's the lyrics:
I was walking down the sidewalk With my coat strung over my back When a car pulled up beside me A big black Cadillac A man said, son have you seen a man with a gun He's got a scar across his eye Looks a little like me, a real mean one
I said, sir I ain't seen nothing I ain't seen nothing at all I said, sir I ain't seen nothing I ain't seen nothing at all
He said, son if you're lying You'll never leave this town alive Gonna fit you concrete overshoes And you're gonna take a dive
The car pulled away and I ran off So afraid I wanted to cry When a man jumped out of the doorway He had a scar across his eye He said, son have you seen a big black Cadillac With a man in the front looks a bit like me And two more in the back
I said, sir I ain't seen nothing
He said, son if you're lying You'll never leave this town Wherever you run, I'll find you And then I'll gun you down
He ran one way and I ran the other Nearly bit clean through my lip When I bumped into a policeman With a six-gun on his hip He said, son have you seen a big black Cadillac With one man in the front and two more in the back Or a man with a scar
man i luv this song!! and i luv this pic!! once again you hav proved ur talent over us mere mortals. and i think the colour scheme works well - it suits the mood

Amazing song... But, not as amazing at this artwork! Your perspective is wonderful, I'm really in love with this. To me, it looks so coincise and has great flow to it. I like the dark them to a dark humoured song. This is really wonderful.

Wow.. 1. I can't really find anything to critique, I find the color scheme to be marvelous (especially the way you have the street pavement sheen.. it really looks wet!) and just the basic feel of the painting. It's as if it could be really happening.
And 2. I haven't near enough talent myself to constructively crit something I would never be able to accomplish anyway. So I will just say it's a beautiful piece.

I really like this! Yes, it's monochromatic like, but it's also a gray day without a lot of light. And that is when colors become muted. The lack of color also fits the mood of the piece. That car is not too big. The car is the one of the main characters of the piece. This is not a technical drawing, and the 1940 Cadillac was a beast...i think it's very appropriate to exaggerate the car in a piece like this. The perspective is not correct, but even here it makes the buildings seem to close in on the guy on the street, adding to the drama of the mood. All things considered, i think it's a really great piece of work!
Thanks! I luv the song, too! Thank you for the fave! :}

Also, guh, that song.
Craziness. It totally adds to the piece. I am a hack compared to you, but I really dig it.
